Lucky 13: The Buzz About HopSkipDrive’s Las Vegas Launch
Written by Aylin Cook
Las Vegas is lucky number 13!
We just launched service in the city, making it our thirteenth market to date. We’re excited to be partnering with Clark County to help provide a transportation solution for youth in foster care. Local families can also use the service to get kids ages six and up to the places they need to go.
HopSkipDrive’s platform connects Ride Organizers with a pool of carefully vetted CareDrivers. All CareDrivers have caregiving experience and must pass a rigorous, 15-point certification process to access the platform.
Many CareDrivers are parents themselves, or have worked with kids in professional settings.
The Las Vegas press is buzzing about HopSkipDrive and our partnership with Clark County. We wanted to share the media excitement about the launch! Check out our recent coverage.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the kids have been great,” Foster said. “They’re talkative. I’ll tell them I’m from Hawaii and that starts up a conversation. They’re all going through a lot, but they’ve all been really happy and pleasant.”

“While the yellow school bus is fantastic, it’s not always the right solution for today’s growing school transportation needs,” McFarland said. “We work with a lot of school districts and counties who tend to have individual transportation needs. They have an individualized education plan and their school doesn’t provide services for that, so the district has to transfer them to another school in the district.”

Amy Williams lives in Las Vegas. She’s a mom of three with one on the way, and she says she’s excited about the app and that she’ll likely use it.
“I think it’s a good thing. It’s no different than a bus driver. We trust our kids on a bus, and it’s a lot safer than having them walk on these streets,” Williams said.
