For Phoenix-based CareDriver Kimberly Smith, the caregiving experience and innate abilities she has go a long way when it comes to making Riders feel comfortable and secure. After hearing about HopSkipDrive from a friend, she became certified on the HopSkipDrive platform in June of 2022.
What made you interested in becoming a CareDriver?
I am an empty-nester, and I wanted to help children and senior citizens as a way of giving back.
What do you like most about the experience of being a CareDriver?
I find driving with HopSkipDrive so very satisfying. Between the support staff and the wonderful children and young adults, each day brings me joy.
Tell us about your caregiving experience and the role it plays in the work you do as a CareDriver.
I am a natural caregiver with many years of practice raising a family. This plays a big part in creating a safe, comfortable space for each person I drive.
What is the most important thing you gain from being a CareDriver?
A sense of fulfillment — I feel very fulfilled being a CareDriver.
Have you had any special experiences with Riders that have been meaningful to you?
Every ride has brought me Riders who make my day more meaningful and special.
How important do you think HopSkipDrive’s mission is?
I believe it is crucial. And HopSkipDrive fills the need perfectly.
